2000 Nissan Xterra won’t start from ignition switch

Burned cables from Transmission. Don’t start from ignition switch.

I am not a mechanic but my guess is, you’re talking about the cable that goes from the battery to the starter. If that cable is trashed then no, the vehicle won’t start because there’s no juice getting to the starter. If you know, what were the circumstances when the cable or cables burned? A jump gone wrong? A fire? Something else?
