Hi,
I have this intermittent problem that shows up while starting my 2000 Toyota Celica (auto transmission) in the morning.
The car starts normally, all the lights on the dashboard do not turn on. I cannot move the gear shift from park.
The only way I am able to do anything is to pres the shift lock button, and move the gear shift. I can drive the car without any problems.
After some time (anywhere between 2 and 10 minutes), all the lights will come on, and the car functions without any problems.
Thinking its a malfunctioning relay, Ive tried looking at the circuit diagram and repair manual - I have not been able to figure out which relay to look for.
Would much appreciate any tips or suggestions on the seriousness of the problem and how to fix it. Thanks
sounds like a loose ground cable is causing your cluster to not have a complete circuit
