I have a 1999 subaru outback wagon, 150,000 miles( not sure, the speedometer cuts out) and the transmission and torque convertor need to be rebuilt. Is it worth 3,000 to fix? I don’t think it has any other known problems (maybe needs an exhaust system) I can’t really afford another car payment or any car over 150/mo for a payment, so I am worried I would just be in the same situation. Any suggestions?
If your head gasket has not failed recently or ever I would move on. They fail especially at the mileage you are at.
