I have a 1999 subaru legacy with about 110k miles. The car shakes when I break. I had the front breaks and rotors replaced and it did not stop. My repair shop thought it might be the calipers so he changed them but still did not stop so he put old calipers back…can’t find the problem. Anyone have this issue?
Have you had the rear rotors checked?
Is the shaking noticeable in the steering wheel or is it felt in the seats, etc.?
If it’s the latter that’s usually a rear brake problem.
If it’s in the front then it could be caused by a loose wheel bearing or suspension component such as a ball joint, tie rod, or tie rod end.
A brake shudder is not always caused by a brake component fault.

I will suggest it to my repair guy. Thanks!
