What is the easiest way to replace the air filter? I am having a hard time getting the filter housing cover to clear the side of the car body. What joint should I break in the cold air inlet hose/tube? There are 4 bolts right at the cover, then there look to be some hose clamps. This is a 1999 Explorer with a 4.0L SOHC engine.
Remove the hose clamp, and take the tube off the cover. Then take the four bolts out and lift off the cover.
