1999 Eurovan (VW) starting problems

Does anyone have a clue what might be the problem with my VW…the VW repair people can’t figure it out.

Here goes…I drive a 1999 VW Eurovan…V6. When I drive to work and back home…no worries, the vehicle starts right up after it has been setting for awhile. But, if I run errands…go to a store…then run across town to another place and then stop one more place…I can’t get the car to start. But, if I wait for approx. 30 to 45 mins. it always starts right up again. It does this funny little quirk when the temp. is from +30 degrees or warmer and it seems to do it the warmer it is.

What is so frustrating is that I have done to the dealer 3 times now with this problem and because they can’t duplicate the situation…the problem doesn’t exist. And since it doesn’t show up on their diagnostic machine…it absolutely doesn’t exist. Ugh!

Any advice?

I suggest you start with the basics. When was the last time you changed the plug wires and plugs, as well as the air and fuel filters.

Of course I am guessing that when you try to start it, the starter is turning the engine over, but it is just not starting. It would be helpful if you could proved a detailed description of what happens when you try to start it and it does not start.
