1997 Chevrolet Cavalier

My Cavalier (2.2L w/3-spd Auto. Trans.) will NOT accelerate beyond 5-10 MPH. To date, I’ve replaced the Gas, Trans, Air, and Oil filters. No luck! I’ve been told the problem may be caused by a faulty fuel: pump, regulator, or relay. If any of these are the problem, why doesn’t it “trigger” the “Service Engine Light?”

Any serious ideas, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

umm ,because its not computer related.

that work for you?

try to diag the problem, fuel pressure test, umongst many other tests, the INTERNET can be way off base.

good luck.

Reconnect the throttle cable, that runs from the gas pedal to the engine throttle plate, and you should be good to go.
