1997 Chevrolet Camaro - temperature climbs at low speeds

The temp on my 97 camaro 3.8 creeps up in traffic or at a long idle but goes down on the open road. The fans run and I noticed that when the air temp cools down it works plenty normal. Could it be a somewhat clogged radiator.

Yes, if your fans work and your coolant is full, you probably have circulation problems. Not enough coolant going through the radiator due to blockage or a poor perfoming pump. I’d go with checking the radiator first.

Are you losing any coolant? These engines are known for leaking intake gaskets.
