Transmission makes a grinding noise when shifted from park to any gear. obd2 code-lockout solenoid B failure
P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical??
Causes, low transmission fluid (ATF), dirty ATF fluid/filter, frayed wiring and or damaged connectors failing solenoid… If the transmission fluid contains any dirt, sludge or metallic debris, the solenoid(s) might not function properly… The ATF level and condition should be the first step in diagnosing a transmission solenoid fault code…
Shift Solenoid B:
- The connector color is black. (other one close by is brown for solenoid c)
- Terminal labeled #1 if fed Ground (chassis Ground).
- Terminal labeled #2 is the control circuit (from the PCM).
(These may be easier off the trans and on a work bench)
Resistance for testing shift solenoid should be 12-25 Ohms…
Apply 12 Volts and Ground to the shift solenoid and listen for a clicking sound… #2 will be for power and #1 will be for ground, see above…
If either or both fail, replace the solenoid…
Let us know the outcome…
