My 1996 Altima a/c will blow cold air when the weather is cooler in the early morning. When it gets to be really hot in the afternoon,it blows warm air. Any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks, Karen.
There are several things it could be but the first step should be to have a set of gauges put on the car and check the pressures. It could be nothing more serious than a low refrigerant charge.
With an automotive A/C system some leakage over time is to be expected with age because auto units are not hermetically sealed like home A/C units.
It’s possible that a partial recharge could get you by for a while but if this is done some oil should also be added as refrigerant oil is also lost with the refrigerant.
