1995 Chevrolet Beretta needed repeated alternator replacements

Hi folks,
I have a 95 Chevy Beretta 2.2 litre that I inherited when my great uncle passed away in 2015. The car had only 61K original miles on it when I got it. When my uncle bought the car back in 2000 it had only 49K mi on it. He barely drove it and kept it in the garage; it’s mint! Yet, from his maintenance receipts I saw that he replaced the alternator. When I got the vehicle I degreased the engine & it fried that alternator. So I replaced it with a new one – which lasted exactly 1 year. And then that alternator lasted exactly 1 year as well. And guess what!? It just went bad again — less than 2 weeks from the 1-year mark of when I replaced it the last time!!! Any ideas what could be causing the alternators to go bad after 1 year of use? Much, much appreciated!

Are you installing new alternators or rebuilt?

What brand?

Some brands and/or rebuilders are junk, in my opinion
