I’m now looking at buying a 1994 isuzu trooper as a small project over the summer, but it has a lifter tick (as described by the current owner). First of all, can someone tell me what exactly a lifter tick is and what causes it and what can be done to fix it, if it even needs to be fixed at all? He said that the tick happens when it starts up especially in colder weather and goes away after about 10 minutes. I have heard that changing the oil to a high quality synthetic can stop this issue? Anything you can tell me about this would be great. Thanks
