I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX AT. Recently, while I am stopped at a Stop Sign or a Red Light, the car will suddenly start moving forward causing me to apply more pressure to the brakes. It also feels that the brake pedal is travelling a lot further now.
Any help will be appreciated.
Most likely, your brake master cylinder is failing.
Alternatively, it is possible that the power brake booster has a vacuum leak, but I am leaning more toward a master cylinder problem.
In any event, ANY type of brake problem is a significant safety hazard that cannot be ignored, and repair of the problem cannot be deferred.
I strongly suggest that you drive (very slowly) to a competent mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
I’m not even going to guess at what the problem might be, but whenever you have a brake problem you need to take your car to your mechanic RIGHT AWAY.
You don’t want to mess around with a brake problem. Get it fixed ASAP.
Thank you guys for the response.
