Hello guys, I am confused about choosing the right engine oil for my Nissan 300 ZX 1987 Turbo. It is written in the owner’s book to use SF/CC or SF/CD engine oil. I want to know what oil is similar to this type or classification.
Any oil of the proper weight that has a letter grade equal to or higher than SF/CD.
Current oils you will find in most store will exceed the SF/CD rating. I think current oils are SP, exceeding the SF requirement.

It’s good you want to use the correct oil There are other specs you should comply with too, esp the oil viscosity rating. “10W30” is a viscosity rating for example, so be sure to use an oil with whatever viscosity rating is spec’d in the owner’s manual too. The oil grade specifies the oil’s lubrication and overall engine protection characteristics. The grade is usually specified right on the oil container. Look carefully on the back of the container in the link below where it specifies which has an “SN” grade. The grade changes every few years indicating better protection, indicated by the second letter. . Since SN is later than “SF”, “SN” should meet your car’s requirements nicely . The grades that start with “C” are usually oils designed for diesel engines, but sometimes are used in gasoline engines too. I used the grade “CC” in my gasoline-engine VW Rabbit for example, VW spec’d either SE or CC as I recall. .
