1983 Nissan Sentra Stalling / No Power

My 120K mile Nissan is stalling and wont get power only when the weather is really hot. I cant get it to get moving. it is a 5 speed manual transmission. I have to ride the clutch and gas to get it to go. What could be the problem?

could this be the fuel pump?

Could be vacuum leak, check all hoses and the vacuum advance, vacuum switch, EGR valve, the little flap on the air intake, and the thermal vacuum valve.

Could be a sticking or bad EGR valve.

One of the bi-metalic temperature compensators inside the air cleaner could be bad, or it could be so hot that they are opening when they shouldn’t.

If it’s a California model, the mixture solenoid in the carburetor could be sticking.
