Hi Guys:
I believe the boyfriend/girlfriend w/the Saab convertible would have smelled that ‘sweet smell’ if the car had a leak in coolant system. Also, if they simply added antifreeze (ethylene glycol) w/o adding water, it would NOT have cooling properties in it’s undiluted form. It needs water to ‘activate’.
My guess would be that the radiator needed to be cleaned/flushed.
I don’t usually listen to you (terms of my probation) but have lately (tv is on the blink) and find you to be amazingly entertaining.
