At roughly 3 to 4 MM of pad thickness on both front and rears you’re due for brakes no matter what brand you decide to use.
1 MM is the minimum but pad replacement is recommended at 3mm. Brake inspections are performed during regular maintenance every 5,000 miles and with 3mm or less it is doubtful the customer will make it to the next service without the inconvenience of returning for an unscheduled repair.
Shop # 2 claimed no repair is necessary at this time but how does that remedy the noise complaint?
