I would call that the same as closing the barn door after the horse has run away . Don’t waste your money.

I live in Connecticut and they pretreat the roads and also use a lot of salt and I never had any cars rust. In 2005 my mom bought a new Subaru Impreza mostly kept outside and driven in the winter and it has no rust and I looked underneath and it looks pretty clean and not rusty. I took the car over and use it as a spare.
It depends on where in PA. Southern PA near West Virginia - not much snow. Erie PA averages over 100" of snow.
This is the best advice. A used vehicle is only as good as it was maintained. Get it inspected. and look at maintenance records.
Both are reliable…the Corolla is considered one of the most reliable vehicles ever made. The Avalon is based on the Camry platform…also very reliable…but a bit more Luxurious.
