I have a 2003 Dodge Neon with 110k miles. When starting my car and putting it into gear, I have to rev the engine in order for my car to jump into gear. It also does it when I come to a light. I could be at a complete stop and the car will either jump forward or I will have to rev the enging in order for it to slip into gear. What could be the problem? I need help with this one!!
Check transmission fluid level.
I assume it is an automatic. As pete says, check the fluid level. I don’t think your car is “jumping into gear” It is “in gear” it just doesn’t have enough fluid to move the car properly.
and use the correct fluid ATF-4 and car needs to be running and in nuetrel
