03 Audi A6 2.7t quattro computer display on dash went blank

I have a 2003 Audi A6 2.7t quattro sedan. After a recent fill-up I hit the resent button for the on-board computer to zero out the info (miles to empty, the avg mpg, avg mph, hours driven, etc.) like I’ve done many times before and the display on the dashboard between the tachometer and spedometer where this info is displayed went blank. I know the lights on the display still work because when I start the car the screen displays the warning to step on the brake to put the car in gear and to put on the seat belt. This same red lighted display area on the dashboard also would normally show the outside temp., the radio station info, etc. and those do not show any more although the radio station info shows on the red lighted display on the radio. Is there something simple I can do to get this computer to display the info again or am I doomed to have to take it to the dealer?

I’ve already tried hitting the rest button and restarting the car to no avail. Thanks.
