Anybody know how long can I drive around using a screwdriver in the slot to unlock the shift lever to shift out of park? The manual says if it stops working with the screwdriver you have to get it lubed or something. Has anybody been doing this for a while? Thanks
Why not just get the shift interlock fixed? It may be something simple like a faulty brake light switch. Check your brake lights and see if they are working.
The screwdriver is supposed to be an emergency procedure until you can get the interlock fixed, not a permanent method of shifting out of park.
I would treat the screwdriver technique as a “limp mode” time to get it fixed right ASAP,are you feeling lucky,are you “gelling” (from that shoe insert commerical for people that are hoofing it)
