code p0441 on a dodge neon 2003

P0441 (M) Evap Purge Flow Monitor Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected duirng

evaporative emission system operation



what does this mean and is it very serious

    A loose or defective gas cap will give this code. There can be other conditions (none serious) that will do it but investigate this one first.

    if i go and buy a gas cap and thats does not solve problem then what else is there ..thanks...jamie

    All you have to do is make sure your gas cap is on tight and unhook the negative terminal from your battery and wait a couple of minutes. Then reattach the cable and it should take care of the problem.

    If this doesn't do the trick, check the hoses on the charcoal canister, it's in the back just in front of the fuel tank.

    If the hoses and connections seem sound you may need a new purge solenoid.
