You cannot go over the speed limit to pass another vehicle

I’d rather crawl up to an intersection also, making sure nobody is in front of me at the red light, then when it is all clear and the light turns green, try to out 60 foot the guy in the other lane…

Waste of gas, and illogical.

That’s not a problem  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

That’s ok, I’ll waste all the gas I want. But at least I’m not wasting oxygen.

Sigh…

I forgot, I’m dealing with the true Americans.

Sorry, but we are talking about America, aren’t we? I suppose you could move to a country you’re more comfortable in…

Maybe I was born here for a reason. Ever think of that? If I could change the heart and mind of just one person in America, I would consider that a victory. People in Europe already live in a more sharing way, so why not try to transplant some that here?

You missed the point. You like the European way go to Europe, and quit complaining about America. Seems you would like it elsewhere. So go there. Even if you could change one person, a lot that would do. So keep clogging up the roads, you’re doing good work.

I’m going to ask a deep question here:

What, Pvt, drives you to respond in such a way? I’m not hurt or offended. In fact, I feel sad for you, and the millions of others alike. Such negativity, animosity. Is there something behind all of that?

Kind of says it all right there. You and I see quite a few things alike, but statements like this piss me off. And no offense was meant, just my feeling on the matter.

What do you think a lot of Americans are.

Right. It’s called different point of view.

People’s views and/are goals are never in complete alignment, and how people use moral arguments to persuade others to put their interests above others. But trying to force people to support your goals while ignoring their own interests is a losing proposition.

Not trying to force anything, just voicing my feelings.

You know I am not one of those really smart people, and not nearly as smart as most on here, I didn’t get a 4 year degree and study all that stuff, no degrees or PHD’s… But wasn’t America founded by those who didn’t agree with Europe and all their ways?? I mean we all came to this country (except for the American Indians) to get away from Europe and their screwed up ways, I mean didn’t they call that The Revolutionary War or something about 248 years ago??

I am a Proud American (may or may not be proud of our current government) and it is VERY offensive to me and ALL Red Blooded Americans to hear crap like the European way… Our ancestors came over and fought and died to get us away from Europe…
And since this is an American Forum, nobody on here should be offended by that!!!

And to keep it car related, WE DRIVE on the right side of the road…

:joy::joy::joy::joy:. Nicely put :+1:

I wholesomely agreed. Also, I used to say crap like that until I decided one day to take a trip outside of NY. And let me tell you, the people from the south ( FL) were so nice and made me change my tone on American people.

Here in NY, it’s truly nuts. People aren’t very friendly but I’ve learned not to judge every one based on a single state of the United States.

And driving behavior is different across all states

Typical Europeans or not.
A Pan Am 727 flight, waiting for start clearance in Munich, overheard the following:

Lufthansa (in German): “Ground, what is our start clearance time?”
Ground (in English): “If you want an answer you must speak in English.”
Lufthansa (in English): “I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak English?”
Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): “Because you lost the bloody war!”

In your opinion, how were or are European ways “screwed up”?

Indians either live in or come from INDIA.

In a real sense, an “American Indian” would be someone from the United States who became naturalized citizen, or dual, of India. The same as “African-Americans”, people of African descent living in the U.S.

Well, here I go. Europe has been fighting with itself for centuries and it is not letting up from the likes of it. Our founders studied governments back 2000 years which is why the constitution was written the way it was. Freedom, liberty, justice, equal opportunities not outcomes, self reliance were all part of it. Reading it and documents such as the federslist papers will provide a better understanding of
what their hopes and fears were and why certain provisions were made. It has worked well for over 200 years from buggies to cars. As Ben Franklin said they have given us at republic if we can keep it. Using the failed European systems is no way to keep it and why we are unique.

It’s the nastiness that some Americans display that I find sad:

“Drive even 1mph below the speed limit around
these parts, and you’ll find out what cold hard
chrome feels like up your butt”

Etc…

You might want to re read reply 87…

That is why They are called American Indians and not Indian-Americans… Indian-Americans are from India, American Indians are from America before it was America… That is the difference… I know that must be confusing to you for some reason…

And to keep it car related, American Indians did not use the wheel, so no carts or wagons prior to the colonial times.

Moving on now…
