Winter gas mix, how to find out when it changes

I searched but was unable to come up with anything for WI. It is recommended for snowblowers and probably the generator, the internet says. Got rid of my 3 year old gas at hazardous waste. Any info?

My reply is probably of no help to you, but in the way of misery loves company, I tried to figure out the answer to that same question for my area a couple of years ago. Nobody I asked seemed to have any idea.

There is no set date for winter blend.

Refineries must produce summer blend from May 1 to Sept. 15, which cost more to make.

Once you notice a drop in MPG on your car after Sept. 15, your station has switched to winter blend.
Likewise once you notice an increase in your MPG after May 1, your station has switched to summer blend

Also recommend to find non-ethanol for those small engines. I never thought to wonder if the winter/summer thing applies to E-free but I’d imagine it does?

Tried non ethanol once for local machines, maybe too old from the station but had to dump it. Drove 40 miles to get it and both snowblowers puked on it. Definitely for the boat though. 500 miles away in MN, so it probably is fresh…

You want non Ethel gas for power equipment? And say local stores have/had bad gas? The float stuck in my rider last year and dumped all the gas from tank into crankcase. Happened once and has not done it again. I wasn’t blaming e-10 gas on that.
