The car was actually a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible. We did not own a TV until 1957 but the neighbors across the street did and my mom and the neighbor lady always watched I Love Lucy.
So much for my memory. Obviously it couldnāt be a 57 if they made it in 53. Reading about it a little, they actually used a Lincoln for that pull over the mountain because they needed the larger engine to pull the trailer.
I thought maybe they had done a TV episode or something with that same scenario since we didnāt have a TV that early and definitely saw it on TV. Didnāt find any episode with it though so must have been the movie on TV. The 53 was a neat car too. Flat head V8.
