A few years ago, the local Subaru dealer had one of these on display:
They had purchased it–used–from Japan, and it had a large sticker stating that it was “Not legal for road use in The US”.

Do you stick to ethanol-free gas? I’d had to think what ethanol might do the fuel injection system.
Crumple zone? At least you don’t have that pesky front end getting in the way of your view 
There’s a couple of those around here too, one is even smaller. I keep kidding my son that is what I will buy him when he gets his license…

I saw trucks similar to that at the Naval Research Lab. They had government plates and I only saw them on base.
