Yup. Better to be safe then sorry. I also tend to keep my vehicles over 300k miles.
I donāt even like how U-Haul installs a wiring harness, so I would certainly never let them work on my transmission coolant lines. I barely trust them with installing the hitch hardware.
That is what I said, coolers done by a mechanic, but a lifetime guarantee uhaul was fine for me for the hitch and 2 years for wiring. If you spring the extra $10 by saving $500 Our exclusive U-Haul $10 wiring service plan covers all of your wiring for 2 years. Any U-Haul location in North America will honor your wiring service plan - even if the dog chews it off!

Iāve bought hitches from U-Haul, then installed it myself. About 20 years ago U-Haul hitches were made by Draw-Tite. And for some reason I could buy the U-Haul hitch cheaper then the Draw-Tite dealer. Now their hitches are made by Curt.
As for the competency of their mechanicsā¦Really depends. The U-Haul stores - Not very likely their mechanics are qualified. But there are some small U-Haul franchises that are basically a garage that have a U-Haul franchise. Those guys Iād trust.
I believe just about any place that sells travel trailers also installs towing equipment on vehicles. Many years ago my dad had a pickup that did not have a towing package and when he bought his travel trailer the dealer installed the towing equipment, including the frame mount.
