What will be my next service for Acura RDX 2015 model?

I knew that already! Odd that my name shows up in the quote when you quoted the OP..

Not reading everything but you are way beyond when a timing belt should be done. $1500 at the dealer and includes water pump, fluid change, etc. Also change brake fluid. Honda transmissions are not hardy so I have the trans, differential, and transfer case fluid change done every 30,000. Tire rotation every 6,000 etc. your dealer will check and recommend other items. Battery at four years.

That is why I suggested he reviewed the service invoices to see what maintenance has already been performed, many technicians promote replacing the timing belt at 7 years or sooner regardless of miles. The timing belt may have been replaced in 2021 or 2022.

Some customers ignore that advice and drive 15 to 20 years on the original belt. If timing belt failure was as common as it was in the 1980’s those people would be nervous, but timing belt longevity has improved greatly.

Will you honor that quote when he arrives at your location?

Well that’s what I paid but I’ll be happy to refer him to Michele. Actually cost me $500 but that’s another story.

I will summarize here, instead of having you read all the posts

Last maintenance was done in July 2023. At that time this was done (as I can read from invoice) -

brake pads/rotor
brake fluid
half shaft (front-left)
tire rotation
alignment
synthetic oil change
cabin air filter
engine air filter

Battery (AAA) was changed in 2022

At that time he didn’t mention about timing belt. But I can ask now. Google search says “between $1,500 and $2,000. This includes both parts and labor”. Looks like, I am looking at around $2500+ with this and other required maintenance, I guess ?

Should timing belt be done at Acura dealer’s, as it is important part ? So far, after the warranty was over I visited individual shop.

There’s absolutely no reason to have the timing belt component set replaced by the dealer on a 10 year-old vehicle..

Any good shop that installs quality parts can do the same job for probably less.

As a matter fact, there’s no reason to bring your car to the dealer for any service unless they can do it cheaper, they’re the only one who has the part, or it’s for a safety recall.

I only have work done at the Acura dealer. Genuinenoarts, fast, experienced, and warranty. I have found their prices competitive or cheaper than other shops.
