Do you trolls even read what the topic is about? The Astro vas discontinued in 2005. The post is about replacing it with a presumably newer vehicle of similar characteristics. The newer replacments may have put more emphasis on safety, which moved the driver away from the front, and reduced the cargo space.

I have easily carried 2000 lb in a long wheelbase Dodge Caravan minivan wih the seats out. If you get one without the stow and go option you get more room and save weight, even better if you can find the equivalent cargo van. I say this for future reference. I hope you get years out of your Astro.

Well, I would never consider a 1969, as I would just keep my 2005 going. I hear you about safety, but Astro has been fine for us. I will consider the Nissan NV as others have suggested too. Thanks!
