I imagine when anyone drives a Bobcat for the first time, they drive it badly.
They exist:
Though I’m somewhat baffled as to why someone would pay 55 bucks for one, given that you could get a passable full-blown drill for that.
Yeah, guaranteed it irritates them too. Ask Thermos or Kleenex why. Once a brand name gets into common use, you can lose your trademark.
Fun fact: “Kerosene” was once a trademarked brand name.
On an assembly line that cordless screwdriver would be lighter and less fatiguing to use than a drill, over an 8 hour shift.
Remember when some called a refrigerator a Frigidaire?
It’s in a line of the old blues tune “Gonna move to the outskirts of town”
And vacuums in some parts of the world are called Hoovers. Many parts of the country all cola’s are called Coke.
When I worked on the loading dock in the early 60s ,every forklift was a “tpwmotor”, no matter who made it. People ask for a “Kleenex” rather than a tissue and the one that puzzles me is that down south I hear people refer to any soft drink as a “Coke”
it was originally called coca-cola which sounds like coke. in the beginning it had cocaine in it. in the form of an extract of the coca leaf
I might be wrong but I think that the fact that Coke-Cola was invented in the south shortly after the civil war and quickly became one of the most poplar drinks around is the reason we do that
Do you know the history of why it was invented and named Coke-Cola?
They got one thing wrong it was not a drug store i Columbus Georgia but a Drug store in Villa Rica Georgia.
Here I sit, - all alone with a broken heart - took 3 bennies and my semi-truck won’t start’
Aspirin was trademarked but Bayer didn’t work hard enough to protect it.
Not to change the subject but they are a lot of fun. I’ve rented them. A real Bob Cat and a John Deere I think it was but yellow. Not as much fun as a DC7 though.
My parents had a professional come out to the property with one of these recently. Appears to be a Caterpillar of some sort. They let a few areas get so overgrown you almost could have made some sort of maze in the pasture grass. Cost almost $2,000 but worth it to have a pro job.
They are not that hard to drive, our forklift broke, put fork skids on a skid steer, shooting solo, got a phone breifing, how you start and what the pedals do, did not know the forks had to get locked in, so there they were stuck under the load I had tried to lift. Got em locked in, but using skid steer for my first try as a fork lift was touch and go but got her done. Next year rented one to move 18 cy of sand to refill the beach. All ended well. Yes I got good enough on the skid steer to unload trucks as needed, But I was just a guy who would do anything needed, fix anything, my title GIS Specialist, database, backup, AV tech support directing underlings for updates etc. was my official job.
