In your case, look for a BHPH dealer that has been in business for a while. Some of these dealers are here today and gone tomorrow. If you find a dealer that has been in business at least 3 years, maybe they are o.k. Keep in mind, however, that you are paying heavy interest rates at these dealers.

True, but I am only looking at cars under $2500 and with a $600 down payment, i can get it paid off pretty quickly at around$250 a month.

For me making sure I drove as many miles as possible under the greatest number of conditions would be high on my “test drive definition” list.
