What books have cars or racing as a major plot element?

I’m looking for books, preferably fiction that have cars or car racing as a major plot element. I’m NOT looking for books on how to repair cars or biographies of racers. I’m looking for good stories that revolve around autos or racing. The only one I could think of so far is Christine by Stephen King. If you can think of any please let me know.

It was never a book, but the movie “A Man and a Woman” was the best movie I’ve ever seen that revolved around racing.

There’s always Days of Thunder. Don’t know if it was a book as well as movie.

What about Speed Racer comics?
