What are ventilated front disc brakes?

Do they have a good track record?

Should they be squeaky?

Ventilated disc brake rotors are ones which have 2 sides separated by fins between the two sides.
Air is deflected through the rotor by the fins, which also dissipate heat.

Any disc brake can squeak so being ventilated does not make them squeak proof.

There are a number of reasons for brake squeak; warped rotors, pad material, heat glazed, missing or weak anti-rattle clips, worn caliper slides, etc.

Thank you for the information!
