Your initial post said ’ family ’ that means more than 2 people to me. I like the rental truck part but please don’t say someone is going to be riding in the towed van. That is illegal in many states.

Good idea to rent a truck for your move If you have two drivers on the trip, I’d suggest one of you just drive the Grand Caravan rather than towing it behind the truck. It won’t save much gasoline to tow the GC behind the truck, b/c the truck will use more gasoline. And towing is always a little unsafe, especially for drivers unfamiliar with the dynamics involved w/dragging a heavy object behind them.

That’s true, but drivers who are tired because they can’t split the driving of one vehicle are also a little unsafe.
What are your ‘towing options’ with a 2007 Grand Caravan? - - well, you could have it ‘towed’ with the front wheels on a ‘dolly’ or lifted right off the ground - depending on your particular mechanical failure. (lol)
