More than likely, one more bit of “click bait”.

Nature Stone holds up pretty well.
Could well be the theory it causes dog to pee elsewhere. Something similar to cause flies to go away, confuses their visual system.
Maybe if car moves plastic bottle wedged between tire & fender makes a loud noise.
