I AM LOOKING AT A SUBURU 2002 TS SPORT WAGON WITH 23000 MILES ON IT. IT WAS PARKED OUTSIDE AND HAD GRASS GROWING UP ALL AROUND IT…IT HASN’T BEEN DRIVEN SINCE APRIL AFTER THE DECEASED DECEASED.
IT HAS RUST UNDERNEATH.

QUESTION IS… HAS THE LACK OF USE AND SITTING CREATED PROBLEMS NOT APPARENT AND CRTEATING A ITUATION I SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM?
Sitting in grass.
Yes indeed there is rust and maybe a chance rodents have shinnied up the grass stalks and made a home in the air intake and/or feasted on the wiring.
Parking in grass for ANY length of time is not good.
I would be doubtful of its condition dependent on the former owners vigilance.
Then again, 4 months is a short time.

Sitting in the grass in Arizona is a heck of a lot different than sitting the grass in New York, especially if it sat for 4 months during the winter.
Can you take it to a mechanic to have it checked out?
That’s what I’d do.
Illegal as it is, you could put your plates on the car for a quick trip to the mechanic. Drive carefully!
