Would fuel injector cleaner be ok for cleaning the throttle body & throttle plate ? 2006 Honda CRV
No. The reason is some throttle body’s/intake plenums have a special coating that helps to prevent deposits from forming inside. Using anything other than throttle body/intake system cleaner can etch/remove these special coatings. Then these components need more frequent cleaning because the coating was damaged or removed.
That’s why they make available throttle body/intake system cleaners.

honda, are you asking about the fuel injector cleaner that comes in a bottle and is made to be poured into the gas tank? If so, no, I wouldn’t use that to clean the throttle. You should buy a can of throttle cleaner instead, and follow the directions on the can.
