How many fans are supposed to be in the engine compartment for the radiator in my 96 Honda Accord Coupe? I have two, but one seems much newer and has a plastic housing instead of the metal one on the older looking fan.
My '97 Accord, which should be the same, has two fans. My '96 Subaru also has two. Many cars have two fans.
There should be two. One is designed to operate when the engine temp reaches a certain point and both should operate whenever the A/C compressor is running as the single fan cannot remove enough engine heat and A/C condensor heat on its own.
