I have a 1996 gmc Sierra 2 wheel drive with the 5.7 engine and I just had the transmission rebuilt and it switches into overdrive about 30 to 35 mph and I was wandering what will make it do that and if it will hurt the transmission?
Seems like that’s about 10 mph or so early for it to go into overdrive, even under light throttle. What does it do under heavy throttle? Personally, I think I’d take it back to the builder.

I wonder why you were wandering .
And why ask this on the web when this rebuilt transmission has some kind of warranty . The rebuilder is the place to ask.
Well, it is a car talk forum. And it is a legitimate question about a car… Sometimes I wonder which questions people wander in here and ask you’d deem appropriate.
