I have a 1999 Ford Ecort and for the past few months my car has been getting stuck into gear and turning off while I am driving or in reverse. Also when I drive the car jerks continuously. I am not sure what to think please advice.

If this is an automatic, you need to get the AT evaluated. If it is manual, you may have clutch problems, although some of your symptoms (jerks almost continuously) could indicate a need for some basic engine maintenance like new plugs, air filter, gas filter, etc.
Pls explain stuck in gear and turning off, in terms of the auto trans or manual that you may have. a little history of last time the basic maintenance was done would be helpful also.
