For a few weeks now my 2003 Kia Sorento has been making a squeaking noise when I put the car in reverse. And now that squeaking noise is also starting to occur in drive at speeds at or below 10 miles per hour. Does any body have any experience with this issue or advise to offer? Many thanks.
Are you sure it coming from the transmission?
Good question. That’s what I assumed given that the car also seems to have some trouble getting from 3rd to 4th gear.
Stick or auto? Mileage?
When you say it squeaks when going in reverse, is that while rolling or standing still?
Perhaps stand besides the car as someone else drives it by you. See if you can hear where it is coming from. It could be something as simple as brakes.
It’s an automatic with 106K.
