Doing my first transmission rebuild and I hear a lot about the trans oil cooler
Is the can flush worth it? Am I forced to shell out for a new part to avoid ruining the new trans with contamination?
Yes, it will flush your cooler and cooler lines, flush until it comes out clean, then with compressed air blow out all the flush… I always buy my flush from WIT (What ever it takes) transmission parts place but I think it is something like this:

Whenever a transmission is replaced. the lines and cooler are flushed to remove any possible contaminates so the new transmission isn’t damaged.
