Transaxle/cooling system warning light

I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 2.0L Zetec manual transmission that just had the slave cylinder replaced now when I turn on the AC the automatic transaxle/cooling system warning light comes on, the temperature gauge slams into the red & the car bogs down. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Isn’t you car a manual transaxle?(Quote) I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 2.0L Zetec manual transmission

Yes it is that’s where the confusion comes in at but that’s what the manual said the light was called

First, check if there is coolant leak and then replace the thermostat.I am guessing that the thermostat is stucked close, creating a overheating condition.

By all means verify that the cooling system is full.

I suspect that when replacing the clutch slave cylinder some electrical component was left disconnected or a wire was somehow shorted. or possibly a common ground connection was left unconnected. Replacing the slave cylinder required removing the transaxle which involves disconnecting several harnesses I believe.
