Sorry Mike, but I have to respectfully disagree on this one. Oil filters are recycled nowadays. Our landfill waste gets put into open trailers now that get hauled away to a company that seperates the goods into recycle catagories. I’m unaware of any towns now that are allowed to “landfill” anything other than dirt and stones. In NH even macadam and concrete are considered environmental hazards and must be disposed of IAW specific regulations. Even tree stumps must be specially processed. I’m told they produce too much methane gas if allowed to rot naturally. I’m guessing our state EPA regulations are derived from the fed EPA regulations.

IF people DON’T put them in the trash…WHICH by far MOST do. Once in the trash. Many towns are starting to separate the trash…but some don’t. Our town is just now starting it. And it’s not fully implemented. Second…It takes energy to run those trucks and magnets to separate the metal from the trash…that’s NOT green.
