Can too much power steering fluid be bad? I was adding some yesterday, and went over the “max” line. I’ve done some searching, and seems like most people say it is harmless. Just wanted to get your input.
The only problem with overfilling the power steering fluid reservoir is that when the fluid heats up the excess fluid will overflow out of the vent hole and make a mess whereever it ends up.
There’s a simple solution. For $1 you can get a turkey baster and lower the level.
No problem with an excess since it merely fills a reservoir. As others have said, remove some excess fluid, perhaps with a bent spoon, to avoid overflow.
