Tired of the computer stuff: seeking recommendations

At least you do not have to do that with a pair of underwear! I have done the same with socks but still match them as ribs and degree of faded I like to match.

Nor with a pair of pants!
However, they are singular at the top and plural at the bottom!

STEALING!!!

Many years ago, I knew a woman who would purposely wear mismatched sneakers, and if someone mentioned her contrasting footwear, her response was…
I have another pair just like them, but for the opposite feet!

Missing socks reappear as Tupperware lids that do not fit any remaining containers.

I was watching the SEC Women’s basketball finals this afternoon, and a few of the ladies had color mismatched shoes on. The Gamecocks won, of course, and the Georgia women played a very good game against them.

If you read about the “Right-To-Repair” movement by farmers you would also understand that these companies withhold all software information which prevents farmers from repairing even simple parts on their tractors/farm equipment. They are forced (extorted?) into waiting for the arrival of an official John Deere technician at exorbitant prices to make their machine run again. So, yes, if it’s running, it’s all fine but once it’s not, you will pay or it won’t move. I see no need for things like blowers, lights to be computer controlled but they all are. What should be a simple bulb replacement is now an expensive endevour that requires a software reset that is proprietary and expensive. Even a radio shouldn’t require diving into 10 menus to find a channel while driving. To please the younger folks that are wowed by tech, they have overbuilt the electronics.

If they really wanted to please the younger folks they’d make the interface better.

It’s not that younger people have an over-the-top desire for gadgetry in cars (or if they do from your perspective, remember that your parents said the same thing about you when you were their age, whether your era was the Sony Walkman, quadraphonics, or in-dash record players). It’s that the people designing cars don’t really understand (or care) how the user will interact with those gadgets.

UI design is an art that’s spawned its own industry, and unfortunately the automotive industry has largely failed to notice. There’s nothing wrong with most modern car tech setups that a well thought-out user interface wouldn’t solve.
