Yeah, the Ecoboost seems to have some premature wear issues, but not all of them and I’ve heard of very few issues with GM.

Changing the belt in my 2002 Miata wasn’t a big problem, except I had to jack up the engine a bit to get a proper alignment of the socket wrench to the crankshaft pulley so I could check the valve clearances. It’s nice to work on a small car with a low nose and a front facing engine, so I could stand on the floor and just reach in.
