I don’t disagree with considering the source but think of Jake tapper and cnn. Was h3 that blind a few years ago an now enlightened enough to write a book, or just lying the? I’ll watch an actual speech and then see how msnbc, abc, cbs, etc, report it and you will see the difference. AP is just as bad, and their style book reflects the bias. Try watching actual congressional hearings and see the difference in how it is reported.
They will report on fires, tornados, drought, etc. and call it record breaking which is a lie according to the actual data. It’s just in their script.
Apparently you misunderstand how journalism works. I saw an interview of Tapper and Alex Thompson. They both wrote Original Sin and were questioned today about why they never said anything about Biden’s failing mental capacity. Tapper said that he thought it was obvious, but anytime he discussed the issue with Biden’s inner circle, they denied it. He couldn’t get corroboration and he wouldn’t print it. Good journalists work that way.
Actually a deflection. I saw video where he was taking the guest apart saying she was not medically qualified to question his fitness. Quite clear where he stood or at least where his handlers stood. But that was just one current example. But I understand how journalists should operate. The first amendment is important.
Drove my 72 Nova till 93 when I traded it in on a Toyota pickup for 90 mile daily commute for work. 175k miles I believe. Rust and engine oil use the big issues. One shock had punched through the trunk panel it was bolted to, new plate welded on, never understood why oil was leaking out of a hole under the front of the piece on top of the middle piece on the v8, just stuck a sock in it! Thinking new engine, got a new truck instead as I traded in my 72 f100 also. So badly rusted out front and back would turn in 2 different directions on a curve! Oh the life!
Every single one of my parents cars were totally used up within 5 to 6 years. 1955. 1961. 1967. 1973. 1979. Rusted out. Engines burn copious oil. Nearly every part wore out. Alternators. Power steering pumps. Water pumps. Radiators. You name it.
My last few cars went 10 years when I sold them and I never replaced any of those items and had zero rust.
Whether or not what you believe is irrelevant, you are simply misleading the readers on this forums.
Galvanized steel is the best. Home Depot now sells galvanized steel nuts bolts and washers and I only use them around the house and on the car. No more nuts rusted into the bolts needing a hacksaw or torch to get off.
So the huge 6.2l GM recall isn’t real, the engines in the chrysler pacifica that eat head gaskets are really ok, the 8 speed gm transmissions really do not have serious issues, the 10 speed ford transmissions do not grenade, the new ipad control tablets on many new vehicles are not failing left and right? I can go on all night on this
There is some real junk out there now. Even if the old cars needed an occasional alternator, so what. Easy. Cheap. Done.
And people like to gaslight me and make it seem like im the only one that feels this way, well alot of people are feeling this way including many top mechanics on tik tok.
And ‘gaslighting’ doesn’t mean “telling someone they are factually wrong in many ways”. You’ve developed a fantasy world, unsupported by actual data, that you then use to condemn today’s world. We have real problems to solve today, your claims are a distraction.
When people persist in living in a fantasy world, it is often the result of having experienced some sort of trauma or extreme stress. If they are unable to deal with the realities of their life, they construct a fantasy world where everything is wonderful, and the real world is terrible.
This is not likely to resolve itself on its own, so counseling is called for. As others have previously suggested, he should seek professional help.
The reason I think you should find a forum you like because you are not doing your mental health any good by constantly arguing here. That has to take a toll on your wife and friends.
The issues listed though are real problems with the new cars. I think the 6.2 issue revolves around the oil recommendation due to the quest to squeeze higher mpg out of it. I think the others are also consequences of trying to design higher mpg vehicles.
We have seen the same thing in refrigerators, washers and dryers, and other appliances. Hey don’t last as long as they used to because they had to meet new energy standards. This is pretty well understood by folks in the business.
Some think it’s good some bad. All a trade off. I’ll buy new instead of looking or a 20 year old model. But why do you care so much that someone disagrees?
