Since there’s no debris in the pan, I doubt if any solenoids are clogged.
No.
You remove the side cover from the transmission to gain access to the pressure control solenoid.

I watched part of that previously and it’s the 3rd video. It’s not clear to me what all he removed to get access to that side cover and remove it. The trans has to be unbolted from it’s mount, or the cradle dropped, to get the cover off, if I recall.
That side of the cradle is dropped.

I dunno. I had to have a new 4th gear solenoid and harness put in and they had to separate the transmission. It was about a 3-4 hour job, pulling the axles out and dropping it down enough to get access. Cost me about $350 some years ago. So at any rate it is a little bit of work. Some of this stuff though is never replaced in a normal rebuild because they say they rarely fail.
my 1999 Buick LeSabre transmission was acting up badly we tried to diagnose it in this form and came up with what I should do was change the fluid twice and had Lucas trans fix the second time. It has almost fixed my problem, all summer it performed perfectly now with Colder Weather Maybe it has a minor hiccup every now and then. The Lucas trans fix did help a lot. However not totally
I just put regular trans fluid back in with no additives. It held over 6 quarts, and I changed it about 20k miles ago, so the majority of the fluid should be new-ish. I used 3 quarts of Dex…IV? Or whatever it is, the newer synthetic stuff. the rest was the older Dex III. I haven’t driven it much since, but so far it seems to shift a little smoother. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, though. Smooth is akin to slipping. It’s hard to tell if I did any good since it acts up randomly. At one time, I would’ve sworn I wasn’t going to get home. Then it shifted perfectly fine the next day. I’ll see how it goes and use an additive as sort of a last resort, I guess. We have 3 vehicles between my wife and I, so if it decides to die we’re not really in a bind. So that’s something I’m thankful for!
