Out of curiosity I looked up the date when Sweden switched to driving on the right side of the road. It was September 3, 1967, which was a Sunday. September 3 was a Friday in 1965, so the wrong year resulted in the wrong day of the week, and a bogus explanation of why that day was chosen. I guess information on the internet wasn’t as reliable back in 1997.
And why do we need to know that?
Imagine the chaos passing across long borders to Finland or Norway that are right drive countries from left driving Sweden.
Makes sense for them to change sides
They’re having a run on bogus puzzler answers, it seems.
Canada used to be split. Brit provinces drove left and French right. Quite confusing but not as bad as the Italians. Even after making the country drive right, some towns were allowed to keep driving left if the town posted signs.
We drive on the left in Jamaica, and, of course, on the right in the USA.
Can you imagine the challenge I face when I drive here too long and then drive in Jamaica!
On my last trip to Jamaica, which was in 2015, I had people screaming at me for driving on the right side of the road.
Puzzler answer.
I also find it very difficult to make that adjustment, both going to left-side country, or coming back to the usa from a left-side country.
